MOTO-MAQLAB-UC3M more than a project a reality

MOTO-MAQLAB-UC3M more then a project a reality.

First test of MOTO-MAQLAB-UC3M with its Moto3 of 100% Spanish manufacture, designed and built by engineering students of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

This past weekend we could see in the circuit of Albacete the new Moto3 designed and manufactured entirely by the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Leganés campus).

The spectacular mono-block aluminium  and double beam lightened chassis, together with its aluminium-alloy swingarm and front suspension manufactured by university's team of engineers, make this prototype a motorcycle with a very competitive behavior.

In the engine section, it has a Honda CBR 250 R engine, modified to adapt to the needs of the Moto3.

Raúl Key (Manager of the MOTO-MAQLAB-UC3M) : "We are very happy with the result of the bike. The cycle part is working perfectly. We have tried it making race simulations with different settings and all have been very positive. Thanks to our sponsors and the work of the whole team we can see the light of day in this ambitious project".

To help them in the evolution of the bike, they have chosen the Madrid driver Iván Garrido, from the Villarace driver's center, who at the age of 16, has a great experience as a test driver and it's not the first time that he has participated in the evolution of a competition bike.

Iván Garrido "The chassis of the bike is spectacular, the bike turns easily and has a ver good behavior".

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid will now focus on improving the engine section, to give the bike more power.

We will see this bike on track soon, working on its development, because several more tests are planned and we hope to see it on a starting grid soon.
