Members of the Maqlab group design a device for faster skin biopsies without anesthesia

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) and the Research Institute of the hospital Ramón y Cajal (IRYCIS) have patented a new device to perform cutaneous biopsies. The new tool simplifies the instruments and reduces the time of the intervention from half an hour to less than five minutes, which is done without local anesthesia or highly specialized personnel. In this way, it accelerates the diagnosis of pathologies such as skin cancer.
